We catch up with Webhallen’s Andreas Jernberg to get his thoughts on DreamHack
The Webhallen DreamStore Team 2017
Since 2010, Webhallen has been in charge of the day to day operations and development of DreamStore. The wildly popular store, located at the digital festival DreamHack, is filled to the brim with the latest and hottest trends in gaming, gadgets and merchandise. The grand opening for this season is about to take place, and the team is preparing behind the curtains up to the last minute. Before the (much enjoyable) chaos ensues, we take a minute to sit down with Andreas Jernberg, responsible for DreamStore.
DH: Hey Andreas! This is your sixth year at DreamStore, what is it that keeps pulling you back each time?
AJ: There’s no feeling greater than meeting such a large number of dedicated gamers who share our passion, and to help them with gaming and tech-related products. We also have a fantastic team consisting of staff from stores all around the country, so there’s a real team spirit and great attitude. It’s going to be a lot of hard work, but with it comes joy and laughter.
DH: What’s your tip for making the most of a visit to DreamHack?
AJ: Explore! You’re going to find tournaments and exhibitions in games you’ve never heard of, which can be a real treat. Anyone who swings by our DreamStore can also try the latest gaming products and speak with representatives and experts from many popular brands. Do however avoid the “free hugs!” signs, it’s Norovirus season…
DH: Do you have a special DreamHack memory you’d like to share with us?
AJ: One of my most memorable moments was when Webhallen got to help plan a wedding. The bride and groom didn’t know more than that it would take place on the main stage. We couldn’t help ourselves, so we cranked it to 11 with a Star Wars theme. All weddings improve when Darth Vader is present.
