Dwight Howard is a professional basketball player from Atlanta, Georgia, born on December 8, 1985. He was the first overall pick in the 2004 NBA draft, chosen by the Orlando Magic straight out of high school. A dominant center, Howard is an eight-time NBA All-Star, won three NBA Defensive Player of the Year awards, won an NBA championship with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2020, and was part of the 2008 Olympic gold medal-winning U.S. team. He is also a three-time NBA All-Star, five-time All-NBA First Team member, and NBA Slam Dunk Contest winner.
