What is DreamHack?

DreamHack is a gaming event unlike any other! DreamHack events are all about the massive BYOC (Bring Your Own Computer or Console) party, paired with a plethora of competitive tournaments and international esports competitions happening. Visitors are able to check out the latest gaming and tech gear at the Expo, and take part in all sorts of different activities! Activities include tournaments, cosplay, non-gaming events like scavenger hunts, tabletop games and more!

Where do I buy tickets and how do I pick them up?

You can purchase tickets here. All tickets can be picked up at the registration desk (tickets are not mailed).

Can I buy festival tickets on location?

Event tickets will be available for purchase at the event for day visitors if they are not sold out online. We recommend purchasing tickets as soon as possible. The tickets are cheaper if you purchase them earlier and buying them in advance guarantees you can get into the festival if we sell out. Find out more information about the different ticket types on our ticket page.

Do I need a special ticket to compete in tournaments?

All DreamHack Dallas ticket holders are eligible to participate in tournaments. Some tournaments require you to participate in a qualifier ahead of time.

To participate in BYOC (Bring Your Own Computer) tournaments, you’ll need a BYOC pass which gives you a seat reservation where you can set up your own computer. DreamHack’s console tournaments don’t require you to bring your own console, you can play on ours.

Don’t miss your chance to pre-register to secure your spot in the tournaments you want to participate in! Visit our Esports and BYOC LAN pages for additional details on pre-registration or qualifiers.

Do I need to bring anything to BYOC other than my PC?

For every BYOC ticket purchased will receive one table seat reservation and a basic chair. You will be provided with two sockets on a powerstrip and one internet port. You will need to provide an internet cable (we recommend a minimum of 30ft to be safe). If you forget these, they will be available for purchase at the DreamHack Store.

Is it safe to bring my PC to a festival?

It is absolutely safe to bring your PC to our event. We will have our Crew security staff on-site during the whole event. If you are concerned about security you may bring a computer lock to secure your tower (or laptop) and peripherals to the table. We do not recommend leaving valuables like cell phones or wallets at your BYOC seat as those are much easier to walk away with. DreamHack is not responsible for any lost possessions.

How does seating work for BYOC?

When you purchase a ticket you will receive a request from the DHID seatmap system to claim your ticket or gift it to someone else. If you are buying for several individuals you can chose to either keep all the seats and pick them all together on the map or gift them to all of your friends and let them pick the seat themselves when the time comes.

The seatmap will open at a time different than you receiving the above mail if you have bought your ticket before the opening of the seatmap. In general this is when buying your ticket in pre-sale, earlybird, or early in wave 1.

We suggest keeping track of our social media as we will highlight when the seatmap opens there. We do not pin a date on the seatmap publicly very early on due to venue side floorplan changes.

Once you have picked your seat you can move it around whenever you like, however approximately a week before the event the seatmap will be locked. Meaning no more changes are possible.

Can I buy a cozy hoodie at the festival?

Yes! The official DreamHack Store will be on-site and your place to purchase exclusive DreamHack clothing and gear and some limited items only available onsite at DreamHack events.

Is IRL Streaming ok?

IRL Streaming is allowed and encouraged at DreamHack, however, it’s important to be respectful of our visitors! If, when you are IRL Streaming, a visitor asks you not to film or otherwise feature them in your IRL stream you are must cease filming them immediately. If you are IRL Streaming and not following this policy, you will be asked to leave the event.

Is there an age restriction?

Everyone is welcome at DreamHack Dallas! Anyone below the age of 13 must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian at all times. Anyone below the age of 18 is required to have their parent or legal guardian sign a waiver.

Can I get a refund on a ticket?

Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds on tickets. Please be sure you’re able to attend if you buy one! If you have purchased a BYOC ticket, you cannot change the name on your ticket and you will need to gift your seat through the DreamHack ID (DHID) system. If you claim your seat you will not be able to gift it to someone else. If you wish to give your ticket to someone else, you can do so by gifting the ticket through the DHID system.

Can I bring my support animal to the festival?

2. The documentation must be sent to support@dreamhack.com no later than 12 days prior to the event.
