DreamHack has become a whole gaming lifestyle festival but our roots are in the Bring Your Own Computer (BYOC) LAN party. We’ve hosted large-scale LAN parties since 2001 where you can bring your own computer and game to your heart’s content over the weekend.
In 1994, a group of schoolmates from the village of Malung, Sweden, embarked on a unique venture. They gathered in the basement of a primary school, creating an intimate space to trade discs, and share insights in computer programming.
This marked the inception of what would be known as DreamHack.
