Cash Cup Extra Recap – Week 1, Season 8

Hey, everyone! We hope you’re doing well.

Season 8 is finally here, and with it, a lot of tournaments and prizes for the highly-skilled players from NA East & Europe. The first one took place on October 6, and it was full of great plays, funny situations and top-tier predictions.

With that said, let’s recap what happened in each region:

Europe

As soon as the broadcast started, the talents Adam Savage, Shyo Wager & Leven2k gave their predictions of which of the trios would lead the standings. In order, they mentioned: 

  • Wave Vadeal, noahreyli & rezonay_
  • Endretta, benjyfishy & 100T MrSavage
  • GAMMA Th0masHD, GUILD Anas & Queasy

The first game started as usual. Some eliminations, some looting, rotations… But, who would’ve thought that we were going to see the best dancing performance of the century? Not us, for sure. The 11 malick + Playwell Trym + fsau trio earned the Victory Royale dodging their enemies’ intents to eliminate them. 

During the third game, we learnt a lesson thanks to the G2 LeTsHe + PassivqFN + Sinan trio: Don’t forget the power of asking for help! (Especially in risky situations)

In the same match, but in a different zone of the map, Solary Floki + GO Decyptos + Solary Clement were decided to get the Victory Royale in the smoothest way possible. Spoiler Alert: They succeeded. 

Those Extra points secured them 1st place in standings, at least for a while.

Ok, ready? Here we go: Leven2k was absolutely right. 

The GAMA Th0masHD + GUILD Anas + Queasy trio dominated the last game of the session, securing a well-deserved 1st place in standings. But… this wasn’t their first Victory Royale, they earned two more!

Finally, with a total of 645 points, the Fortnite Cash Cup Extra Presented by DreamHack EU Champions:

NA East

With Kelly Link, LifewPanda and Clay Stehling in the broadcast, this region had predictions of the most powerful trios too. In order, they picked: 

  • LG Slackes, Acorn & G2 Jahq
  • NRG Clix, Tahi & sprite
  • TSM FTX Comadon, FaZe Cented7 & NRG Edgey

An impressive use of their resources is what the ALOFT wodzy + wafflar + Eaths44 trio showed during their first match. Using their healings and positioning wisely, they managed to stay alive enough time to earn the Victory Royale.

Oh, and talking about Victory Royales, the TNG Pal + JayRosez + Moose trio had two back-to-back ones! Staying calm until the very end of their games, they demonstrated what they were capable of.

Sometimes, a good idea with perfect timing can be the difference between winning and losing. You can ask edanqt, XSET Av & Dmur trio, who decided to play aggressive in his last fight, and he was rewarded with a Victory Royale.

Lot of abilities are needed to succeed at Fortnite. If you are playing duos, trios or even squads, teamwork is the key. For example, when K2G Rocaine was eliminated in their 9th game, his partners FaZe Megga & FaZe Dubs were there to take vengeance.
