From June 2020, we hosted open participation online tournaments! Fans throughout EU and NA were able to participate, and we hit a new record of 1 million signups in January 2021.
We’re thrilled to be back: each season of Fortnite’s competitive calendar in 2021 will feature a DreamHack Open! We will be providing an official broadcast live on Twitch with professional commentary.

Tournament Format
Season 8
Format: Duos. Oct 7, 8, 9, 10

Open qualifiers with 500 duos advancing from each heat to the semifinals.

Each duo can play a maximum of 10 games during the 3-hour-heat.

Semis with 500-1,500 duos and 50 duos advancing to the Grand Final. Each duo can play maximum of 10 games during the 3-hour-heat.

Final with 8 consecutive games at the scheduled times. New game starts every 35 minutes.
Duos Point System
During Qualifying Heats, each elimination is 3 points.
During Semis, each elimination is 4 points.
During Finals, each elimination is 6 points.

You do not need to sign up. Just open your Fortnite client and make sure that you can join the tournament in the compete tab.

This tournament is fully played online.
Yes you can play in both heats. Each duo can play a maximum of 10 games during the 3-hour-heat and the best 500 duos will advance from each heat. Once you have advanced you may not play additional heats in stage 1.
Yes, you are to free to choose which region you wish to participate in and can play in multiple regions. We recommend you pick the closest region so you get the best ping and playing experience.
There are no invites to this tournament.
There is no elimination cap for this tournament. Every elimination matters. The open qualifiers and semis/finals have different elimination points.
The tournament can be played on all platforms: PS4, PC, Mobile, Xbox and Switch.
Yes it will be broadcasted live on our Twitch channel.
Yes you can, however we would advise you to set a reasonable delay to avoid giving things away!

Operation Recap
Our community tournaments at DreamHack Winter 2019 and DreamHack Anaheim 2020 were met with amazing turnouts. Notable pros from all over the world showed up, including Ceice, ZexRow, Crue, Arkhram, Saf, and many more!
