FESTIVAL INFO

DreamHack is an immersive gaming experience where the community comes to life. At our festival, you come to experience professional esports tournaments, amateur and high school gaming tournaments, world-famous bring-your-own-computer (BYOC) LAN party, cosplay, art, activities, expo, screenings and more.

We’ll be at the San Diego Convention Center in Halls D through to H.

Until we announce anything, consider its status unknown. If you cannot find what you’re looking for on our website, then assume it’s not yet announced or it will not be happening at this time.

The festival hours are the following:

  • Friday, 10am – 1am
  • Saturday, 10am – 1am
  • Sunday, 10am – 7pm

 

For BYOC LAN visitors, you have the following access:

  • Friday, 9am – Sunday, 7pm

You can explore the expo area between the following hours each day:

  • Friday, 10am – 7pm
  • Saturday, 10am – 7pm
  • Sunday, 10am – 5pm

 

The rest of the festival continues though! More activities happen past 7pm on Friday and Saturday up until 1am.

ATTENDEE INFO

Children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, and a parental or guardian waiver must be signed when collecting your tickets for anyone under the age of 18.

As much as we love animals, they’ll have to remain at home. The only animals allowed inside the building are service animals.

Both IRL Streaming and recording footage is allowed and encouraged at DreamHack. However, it’s important to be respectful of our visitors! If, when you are IRL Streaming or filming, and a visitor asks you not to film or otherwise feature them in your IRL stream, you must cease filming them immediately. If you are IRL Streaming and not following this policy, you will be asked to leave the event.

While we do not go out of our way to record people, you may be caught in videos used for marketing purposes. Please read section 6.8 on our rules page for a full breakdown of our video and photography rules.

Yes! Simply head on over to our Hotels & Travel to access the hotels we’ve worked to get you a reduced rate. Do remember these are limited and are first come, first serve.

TICKETING info

You can buy tickets directly from our ticket page. We do not condone the selling of tickets on third party websites – if you do buy from them be careful as we cannot confirm their validity.

Yes! Thursday April 6, you can collect your ticket at the SDCC Box Office between 3pm and 8pm.

DreamHack tickets are non-refundable. The only circumstance for a ticket refund is if the event is postponed.

You might have decided to upgrade your DreamHack experience and we want to support you, so send an email to support@dreamhack.com and they can assist.

There may be some tickets or ticket types that aren’t upgradable.

You will receive a full refund within 60 days of the original event dates.

Children aged 5 and under are able to attend the festival for free.

Yes, ticket registration desks will be open until 8PM daily.

Yes you can! Make sure to select the option on Tixr with the blue banner before you login and use your credit or debit cards to confirm your payment.

Journalists may contact the Office of Press Operations via our Press Accreditation site.

Yes – simply head on over to our Military Discount Application Form and apply and we’ll get back to you within 10 day if you’re applicable.

byoc lan

There is a BYOC (Bring Your Own Computer) area at our event where you can join in our BYOC tournaments, and play games all weekend long.

You can find more information about the BYOC LAN on it’s own page but we’d recommend the following:

  • Your gaming rig: PC, monitor, mouse, keyboard, headphones, and other peripherals. Don’t forget the cables!
  • Powerstrip extension (with multiple power outlets)
  • Ethernet/network cable (about 25′)
  • Personal medication
  • Water bottle – don’t forget to hydrate!
  • Extra comfy clothes

BYOC Parent Badge
Additional area access to the BYOC for parent/guardians of minors to check on them through ought the event

What does this mean

  • You will be granted to the BYOC area within the event
  • No seat or table will be provided to you
  • We ask you do not stay in the area for extended periods of time, due to overcrowding concerns

 

What the parent badge is not

  • A ticket into the DreamHack Festival – a valid ticket must be purchased for the parent of the BYOC Minor
  • A parent pass does not come with a BYOC ticket. It is a Festival ticket that we extend additional access to
