I would almost call myself a consumer of art first and foremost, because I have always loved looking at other people’s work, scrolling Pinterest for hours and obsessing over artists in waves. That love has always lived alongside my own urge to create, and these days I am a chaotic fanboy figuring things out as I go while earning money drawing characters I love. My shrimp-themed brand began when a good friend from my old school bought tables at Comic Con 2023 for me and others from the cosplay club, and from there I slowly grew into selling on my own. I think shrimps just look silly and fun to draw, and that stuck. I started drawing as soon as I could hold a pencil, making cringy OCs and Five Nights at Freddy’s fanart that I still look back on fondly, and when I opened my Instagram in 2021 I began taking art more seriously. I cannot imagine life without the visual beauty of art or the deep messages hidden in it, and decorating my room with art, both mine and others’, makes me feel like myself even on the hardest days.
