This role is all about grassroots engagement—someone who lives and breathes Atlanta and understands the gaming culture in and around Georgia – from esports, cosplay, creators, streamers, and everything in between. You’ll be our eyes, ears, and voice within the city, ensuring DreamHack’s presence is seen, heard, and felt in every corner of Georgia’s gaming community.
Key Responsibilities
Community Activation & Field Marketing
- Identify and activate key locations where Gen-Z gamers and fans of internet culture are and meet.
- Develop and lead a high-impact, locally tailored marketing plan.
- Leverage relationships within the state and industry to build awareness and open up new marketing opportunities.
- Identify and propose potential partnerships opportunities with school esports tournaments and gaming clubs.
On-the-Ground Representation
- Act as DreamHack’s local representative—attend local events, engage with local press and influencers, and drive community excitement.
- Provide feedback to the central team on what’s resonating locally and adjust strategy accordingly.
- Recommend and facilitate PR opportunities to get the word of DreamHack out to a wider audience.
- Work with DreamHack’s local partners and sponsors to maintain good relationships with them.
- Explore collaborations with local businesses and events.
- Recommend impactful locations for OOH placements (billboards, transit stops, etc.) based on real-world visibility and relevance.
- Assist with local execution and quality assurance of the campaign rollouts.
Who You Are
- A natural connector who thrives in face-to-face engagement.
- Deeply familiar with Georgia’s gaming, youth, and business ecosystems.
- Exceptionally organised with strong self-management and prioritisation skills.
- Comfortable working independently, but collaborative in spirit.
- A fast mover who’s energised by building something from the ground up.
- Resourceful, street-smart, and creative in finding ways to cut through the noise.
Requirements
- Proven experience in grassroots marketing, field activation, community engagement, or local partnerships.
- Strong understanding of gamer culture, especially Gen Z audiences.
- Knowledge of school systems, local events, and Atlanta’s regional quirks.
- Basic B2B or business development experience.
- Familiarity with OOH marketing and tracking mechanisms for promo codes/tickets is a strong plus.
- Ability to travel within the Atlanta metro area and occasionally beyond and a valid drivers licence.
Nice to Have
- Background in gaming, esports, or geek culture.
- Relationships with cosplay groups, local artists, or indie developers.
- Prior event marketing or gaming marketing experience.
- Understanding of DreamHack’s brand and festival culture.
- Awareness of local PR and media landscape—who’s influential and where we should be showing up.
